Located at the entrance of PLAZA, Europe’s largest logistics park, on the junction with the A2 Madrid-Barcelona motorway, Plaza Imperial is a retail scheme comprising an 83,400 sqm shopping centre and a 40,000 sqm retail park.
The scheme was acquired in December 2017 in a highly stressed situation following both the financial crisis and new competing shopping centres. The focus has been on repositioning and repurposing the asset including reanimating the retail park and repurposing the defunct shopping centre for alternative uses.
An agreement with COSTCO has been reached to open a new 16,000 sqm store on surplus land. The retail park is being repositioned and a reassessment of the former shopping centre area is also underway.
